Description:

A traffic haters’ delight, best done on weekdays to avoid crowds of trail users.  Plenty of pit stops available and a possible culinary adventure in Bethesda.  Not all trails are created equal; expect some nasty bumps on the Rock Creek section.

Terrain:

Mostly flat with a downhill start to the Potomac and a discouraging uphill finish away from it.

Surface:

Almost entirely bike paths, with one small street foray to avoid Kennedy Center construction (eventually this will be finished) and a short stretch on Beach Drive (closed to traffic on weekends)
